“Here we are. Hello there, world!”

“Here we are. Hello there, world!”

This is our first post. (Those were her words.) Allow us to introduce ourselves: Phil and Krysti. We were married December 19^th, 2009 after having been together for three years prior. The biggest things about us to know is that we are have both been born-again believers in Jesus Christ since we were very young and we are both professional and accomplished musicians and music teachers. Our entire lives focus around those two aspects in some way or another!

We have both blogged at some point around our early college years or so, but we together wanted to make something more. Our blog is called “The Schey Pastiche.” We found that word “pastiche” and it was essentially defined as a work of art comprised from a variety of sources. That seemed to catch our idea pretty closely! The purpose of this blog is to be a variety of things including stories, anecdotes, chronicles, ideas, adventures, projects, discoveries, updates, creations – anything and everything!

The other idea is also that this is a journey, one that never ends. We’re starting this blog after being married two and a half years, and our story continues indefinitely. Our respective families have rich histories of their own which have helped shape us into who we are. Their stories continue with us, and we are adding to the tapestry that is our family, creating new threads with exciting new adventures and stories yet-to-be discovered! So, you will share in our lives together and someday in our children’s lives, as the Lord blesses us. Who knows? Perhaps you may someday be blogged to by our children!

So what will we add to our never-ending pastiche? The tapestry never ends.
